Grant Harrelson Camp Recap

Last week, kids at the Grant Harrelson Camp not only had the opportunity to develop their basketball skills, but also to build meaningful relationships and grow spiritually.

The camp, held from June 17th–19th, began each day with stretches led by their coaches. Campers were able to have fun while working on their footwork and agility. After physical warm-ups, they participated in an enriching Bible study led by Coach Jeff Harrelson. He focused on three key Fruits of the Spirit — peace, patience, and kindness — encouraging campers to grow not just as athletes, but as individuals of strong character. These words became a theme for the week, even serving as the daily huddle break to help keep them top of mind.

Each day after the lesson, kids were divided into small, tight-knit groups based on age, with skilled coaches assigned to each. This allowed for personalized attention and the chance to develop both friendships and basketball fundamentals.

Throughout the week, campers played a variety of games, including 1v1, knockout, and team activities focused on encouragement and teamwork. After some time in the gym, kids went outside for a well-deserved snack and water break before returning for more fun, games, and skill-building.

The encouraging environment created by the coaches helped make every moment enjoyable and impactful.

Overall, the Grant Harrelson Camp is a fun, interactive annual event that gives kids the opportunity to get out of the house, improve their basketball skills, and grow as individuals. It’s a beautiful way to honor the late Grant Harrelson, allowing kids to enjoy and fall in love with the game he cherished.
